Dear Experts,
I want to simulate a simple WAAM process in which Heat Source moves along a straight line (end of step 9) and then goes back.
Model of heat is Double ellipsoidal Goldak and the subroutine is attached. After running the job, it is completed but at the end of forward movement it doesn't go back and is not converged. Please help me correct the subroutine.
Thanks in advance.

Are the built-in additive manufacturing process simulation features (event series, moving heat sources, progressive element activation, progressive cooling and so on) available in new releases of Abaqus insufficient for your purpose ?

The process is Wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) and there is not such module in abaqus AM 2023.Can we use FDM module instead of that?

The AM Modeler tool indeed officially supports only selected AM methods. But a wider range of processes (including welding for instance) can be simulated using built-in tools. It should also be possible to simulate this WAAM process. Even if AM Modeler and keywords are not sufficient, you could use the built-in subroutines like UMDFLUX. Most likely it won't be necessary but even then you won't have to write subroutines from scratch.

Thank you so much
