I was wondering if anyone knew of a good reference or method to approximate the interlaminar shear stress on the resin between layers of a composite wrap for a pipe.

That is kind of like asking what is the ILS in a flat laminate. There will be some stored internal stresses and some due to external loads. What are your loads? I don't think that pressure in the pipe would cause much shear loading.

Compositepro, do you think ILS determined from a flat laminate can be used to analyse a tube structure like a pipe? also if the pipe is subject to a bending load will there be any shear load in the NA of the pipe and how far off the ILS of the pipe from ILS determined from flat laminate?

Interlaminar shear strength can be determine from flat laminate tesing and used to analyze tubular shapes. Interlaminar shear stress is unique to every point on a structure and is caused by applied loads. This question was answered in another forum and had to do with dragging a wrapped pipe over ground.
