There appear to be many different tests for determining wear rates for materials. I am interested in finding the flash temperature limit for scoring(scuffing?) of various materials when localized welding of the 2 surfaces starts and produces 'scratch' indications.
Thanks

Flash temperature is something I normally associate with solvent ignition as in flash point.
Abrasive wear is associated with scratches
Localised welding is exactly that.

Just to clarify, after reading my initial post again, I am looking for standard? test methods to determine the scoring limit for materials.
