I am not able to modify the options of extension line lengths, offset of extension line from the feature etc. Solidworks seems to have fixed this. I recently upgraded to 2006, I havent seen these options in any SW though.
Very rarely I have the necessity to use a particular size sheet and modify the textsize, arrowsize etc. In such cases depending on what size you put in, the extension of the extension line beyond the dimension line becomes too much (or too less). This looks bad on the drawing (especially considering a small drawing with lots of dimensions)
The doc prop has only modifications for the arrow size, text size and location of the dimension lines from the feature and loads of other stuff.
Perhaps the ext of the ext line beyond the dimension line and certain other options (which ACAD allows the user to freely modify) is constrained in SW per ANSI std. Unfortunately I dont have the copy of stds, nor the access to it. And am also not doing detailing in this case which has to adhere strictly to dwg stds...
Anyone has any luck with these? or any suggestions?
Thanks

I don't have SW06, but it's probably the same/similar as all other versions ... Tools > Options > Document Properties > Detailing

There is a bug in in SP1.0 and later. You cannot drag the extension lines of dimensions in drawings out. Known bug... contact your VAR and have yourself put on the list ... the more people get attached to this bug, the faster it will get fixed.

Corblimey, that was too obvious, pretty silly of me though to miss it. I guess I kept going down the tree before looking carefully at detailing.
Thanks.

We have just started using SW2006 SP2.0 and can drag/extend the dimensions lines so this SP has now fixed the problem.

No actually it is still broken in SP2.0. There are some dimensions I ahve seen it work for, but and some it will not work for... you are just lucky, but the SPR has not been fixed yet.
