designing reinforcement

hello.I want to know how to design a 2-plate crotch plate reinforcement . I don't know what to do with the parameters like dw,db,dt which I have obtained them from awwa c200-91 M11 manual.

You may check, if this design code applies, ASME B31.3 section 304.3.3 or use it as a reference.

It's been a while since I looked at it, but I was thinking the methods in M11 only told you if you needed a crotch plate- not how to size it.

If the pipe is of any size, FEA would be one approach- it wouldn't take a real sophisticated approach to get useful results.
