Designing Crwoned Pulleys 1

Can anyone inform me of a good source (on-line, book, etc.) for information concerning basic design principles of using crowned pulleys to help with belt tracking on a continuous belt drive system?

Of pertinent interest is the amount by which the pulleys are to be crowned, and how the crowning effects the friction (or "stick-tion&quot of the system.

My ancient copy of Guillet's Kinematics of Machines shows 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch per foot of width. Either a straight taper from the center or a circular arc. Also, make the pulley with slightly greater than the belt width.
