design table in assembly

How do we make design tables so that the change in configuration in a part changes in the assembly. Thank you.

Anytime a part changes that is in an assembly it will update. Whether or not that Config of the part is active is another story. Or if your using Lightweight it will not update. you have to make it active before it will update.

Your going to have to explain your situtation in furhter detail.

You can specify that a component's configuration in an assembly matches the part's current active configuration. The danger with this is that someone may save the part in a different configuration.

If you want the assembly to reflect revised configs, just revise the part model and rebuild the assembly.

If you want the assembly to be shown with different configs of a part you need to create different configs of the assy.

But to get change in configuration in a part change in an assembly - that I am not sure of.

How about and example, that may make your problem simple for us.

Assuming you have already made the required part configuration, your assembly design table should include the following column header: $CONFIGURATION@Part.

In the appropriate row of your configurations, you would then call out the desired configuration name of the part.
