Hello everyone,
I would like to get clarifications for a few things in Appendix II of the ASME B31.1 Code:
1. When determining P1 (see Section para II-2.2.1, (A.1)) at the discharge elbow, what are the "a" and "b" factors in the equation?
2. Why does P1a = P1(P/P*)? Is P* the critical pressure or something else?
3. Should "W" (actual mass flowrate) in equation (A.1) be calculated by multiplying W' with 1.11 as in para. II-2.3.1.1(because it is not clear if that is how it should be calculated)?
I hope the above questions have not been answered in previous threads, because i tried to search for answers but couldnt find any. If they were, I would appreciate if you would kindly make reference to them.
Thanks for your help
Abdu
