For a dry gas high-pressure application your question is like asking "should I drive a Ford or a Chevy to the compressor site". This gas is so easy that you are going to get similar results from any of the empirical equations.
The questions you should be asking the production engineers are:
- What is the highest required injection pressure (at the surface)
- What is the expected injection rate for each well
- How many wells do I need to design for and where are they
With good answers to all those questions you can layout the pipe to optimize the trade off between compression hp and pipe in the ground.
Then you can design compression and pipe to fit within you target pressure-drop/velocity (whichever your company prefers, either gets you to about the same point). Make sure you pick a pipe that can handle the pressures required.
"Weymouth or Panhandle"?????? I haven't used either since I retired my slide rule. The AGA equation fits most situations without the shortcuts that made the other two nearly "slide rule friendly". At the end of the day unless you are building a single line to a single well you'll need to be evaluating this within a pipeline model anyway.
