I am seeking design information (i.e. technical design guides, design example calculations, etc.) for the design of Expansion & Fixed Bearing Supports (see image) based on AREMA criteria.

I will let you know if their are parts I cannot clearly read in the image. Is there a book I can purchase that contains this info as well (or ways to obtain a PDF of something similar)?
 
@bridgebuster - What grade of steel (Fy) is being used as material for the rocker bearing shown in the image?

It appears that the highest load that the standard can take is 600 kips. Am I reading that correctly?
 
@oengineer - AREMA anchor bolt design is empirical although if you are designing for seismic, you have to check that the bolts can tansfer the lateral load. AREMA does permit the use of keeper blocks and restrainers.

They don't specify any allowable stress for anchor bolt but 0.35Fy would be consistent with AREMA requirements for shear in steel. There is a table that says bolts shall be Gr. 36, 55, or 105. If you're designing a railroad bridge you ought to invest in AREMA.

BTW - I have the same textbook as you (Example 8-5); I found it this morning in a pile of books.
 
@oengineer - I didn't see your posts when I posted the AREMA notes. Anyway, the rockers most likely were A36 steel. 50 ksi wasn't widely used then. 600 K is the maximum load in the table. Here's another table:

The photo is a Wisconsin DOT standard from 1984. I took it from this book, which was quite popular about 40 years ago. It doesn't get into design of rockers. There was also a companion book by the author on inspection and load rating.
