There was an excellent little spreadsheet program posted in the spreadsheet forum for the design of continuous beams. You might want to look there. It's a matter of determining what loads are on the beam and what loads are likely to be on different spans to determine the maximum effect. The local code may stipulate what minimum loads should be applied and the loading pattern to be used. The spread sheet does not permit the support stiffness to be addressed.
I thought the WQ may have been a typo, but couldn't find a letter near the W unless his typing finger hit both keys and the beam is simply a W or wide flange. If so, it's a matter of selecting a steel section with a sufficient moment capacity. There are a few other issues that should be addressed such as bearing, crippling and lateral support.
