Rather than start a new thread on an old topic, please do a search for septic tanks on the eng tips site. There have been literally hundreds of posts regarding septic tanks.
well I'm asking on the old system, not the modern system made of concrete, the old system was made only with stone and gravel, if you can help me I'll be very thankful
The invention of the septic tank is credited to Frenchman John Louis Mouras, who, during the 1860s constructed a masonry tank into which was directed various household detritus from a small dwelling in Vesoul, France, subsequently overflowing to an ordinary cesspool.
So the septic tank is about 150 years old. I am not aware of any of the designs that were used before that. Probably a privy or outhouse was used before that.
