Demister position

If a demister is right at the top of a methanol absorption column, why would you want to move it down about 1 meter?

Demister manufacturers will define a minimum disengaging height above a demister. A factor in this decision is the contour of the region above the demister. I suggest you discuss your requirements with the manufacturer.
