Hi all
Recently my colleague opened 2 parts in a solid edge assembly.
He then did a "save as" and named them something else.
The new part file was then modified to his requirements.
When that was completed, he replaced the 2 old parts in the assembly with the new ones.
Now this morning when he opened the assembly, solid edge gave a message that the two new parts could not be found, even tho the assembly was saved complete with all parts correctly placed etc etc.
We have searched backups , the whole server etc, but can't find them.
It seems they have just been "deleted" or disappeared, not misplaced.
Has anyone experienced this before ?
I welcome any suggestions
Many Thanks

Go open the old parts and see if they have the new part changes in them.

When you open a part from the assy, you have to do a save copy as. You then have to go and open this file to make changes and replace it in the assy. This can cause errors.

However, it seems like you may have that down already.

Were the parts given different names?
