Hi

my job is aborted because i have a zero volume element. i can visulize the elements in the viewer or using the mesh verifier. but how can i delete them? when i go to edit mesh to delete them they are not highlighted anymore. is there a possibility to create a set in the part module from the error set in the viewer?

thanks for any help

Trying to delete the element is a bad idea. It's probably not a zero voloume but a negative volume where the quadrilateral shape is such it appears flipped inside out. In CAE use the mesh verifier and highlight the element that gives an error. You'll then have to remesh the volume until you have no elements that give errors and preferably elements that give warnings in areas you're not so concerned about.
You can also get zero volume elements which appear perfectly flat. There may be something wrong with the basic geometry then and you may need to repair it before meshing.

Not sure if this applies to zero volume elements, but you can try adding these lines to your .env file:

import os
os.environ['ABA_SKIPSTRICTGEOMCHECK']='YES'
del os

If the bad elements are away from your area of interest, then deleting them should have no effect on your results. Of course this assumes your model has many thousands of elements..
