Hi everyone,

I am new at pt design and working to understand. I am using ram concept and need to learn how to check short term and long term deflections.

Thanks for you help

Tolga

What version of RAM Concept are you using? If you have version 4.0.1 it has the ability to do a time history analysis for long term deflections. There is a good paper on the bentley forums about how it does the long term history analysis, the link to it is attached. The biggest thing I would worry about with the long term deflection is to make sure that you check long term with a reduced anticipated live load approximately 20-30% of full live load. But you must add in instantaneous live load deflection due to the fact that 10 years down the road, the concrete has deflected due to creep and shrinkage and then might be subjected to full instantaneous live load. I hope this helps.
