Hello everybody,

Could you please help me to define the torque to be applied on bolts for flange connections. I have several different material (A320 B7/L7 A193 B8) and I would apply 50% of yeld. I shall give evidence to my Client that applied torque is ok, if you can please provide some reference to technical formula.

Thanks for cooperation.

What is the specific gasket material you intend to squish between the flanges? THAT material (not the flange itself) is the critical sealing element.

AS a guide, use the information given by one or more of the gasket manufacturers - Flexitallic, Lamons, etc. I've used them for years, and they seem to be conservative enough for most applications.
