I Would like to know the detail of mass flow rate TEST. Why it is basic test in plastics? and What is the purpose of it?

Your Right am questioned about the MELT FLOW RATE TEST.

Am Here discussed about the MELT FLOW RATE test of HDPE materials(BOROUGE PE 100)with my Production manager When i asked him about the MFR test, He was answered that MFR Test is related to how much of Parameters on the Extrusion Machine to set Like Extrusion Pressure and Heat input(melting Temperature) Etc., can we have to set on the Machine. By testing the MFR for particular batch of raw materials we know the Input parameters for machines results

My Question is

What ever we getting the TEST result on MFR test.

1. But the MELTING TEMPERATURE of Borouge PE100 is constant 190 deg c. Then why we need to test the MFR?

2. The extrusion speed we input on Machine for particular pipe size. To attain the required production is our decision with quality requirements Then why we need to test the MFR?
