DCI vs Higher Strength Concrete

Good afternoon all,

I am working on a marine research facility framed with concrete beams and two-way slabs. Concrete mix values were set per ACI: 0.40 max w/c, 5000psi min, increase in rebar cover, etc. I have included a DCI (corrosion inhibiting) admixture for a few research labs that will be directly exposed to salt water. The contractor is requesting to subtitute a higher strength mix (6-7ksi) in lieu of the DCI. Is there a concrete strength where the DCI is not as effective or may even be elimiated due to the more dense(higher strength) mix?

Higher density is typically better than DCI, assuming concrete quality, consolidation and increased cover are maintained.

The use of GGBS cement replacement is beneficial.
