I'm converting a 2D tooling drawing into 3D model but a note from 2D drawing is unclear to me...What does "DCD ?230 6 pcs. M12"
I knew that "PCD" is Pitch circle diameter, but DCD?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Win

Looks like Drilled (hole) Circle Diameter would work. I'd ask, i f possible.

Inter/discipline/faith/species Acronyms already are way out of control IMHO.

When 'challenged' for doing a thing a certain way (not necessarily a BAD way) 20 years from now folks will be referring to cherished acronyms and saying "I was alwayt taught...."

I think DCD means Duffus or Dumb, Confused Designer or Detailer, take your pick. If you are converting from 2D to 3D, this will obviously have to be changed to either DDCD or DCDD to get the full 3D conversion completed. You could ask the original DCD’er for a list of acronyms and abbreviations, and their complete meanings, for all his drawings, and back charge him for every one he misses.

Tmoose..... you took the words out of my mouth, acronyms and abbreviations are way out of control. The time wasted to try to figure them out discourages me from following many of the posts here. If we all only used a few more of them, we could say everything about everything without really saying anything, and save a whole lot of typing and ink doing it. What a bunch of twitting twits. For example, wabott.

Per ASME Y14.38a-2002 it stands for decode, ironicly enough.

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)
What is Engineering anyway: faq1088-1484
