Hello,
I first want to say thank you in advance for those who help.

I have 2 questions concerning a DC motor I have. I was able to find a datasheet on the motor and the max voltage is 10.8. The battery pack I'm using is from laptop batters and the volts can range from 11.1 to 13. I was thinking about using a voltage regulator, but I was worried about the amps.

1st Question:
If my battery pack is 13v with 4.5 amps. If I use a voltage regulator, what will happen to the amps?

2nd Question.
If I lose amps because of the voltage regulator, can I use a resistors.

Thank you!

1) The amps will follow what the load demands.

2) non sequitur

If you're going to use a speed controller it will take care of the 'overage'. If you're only going run the motor in brief units of time, say under 30 seconds don't worry about the few volts over the 10.8.
