I wish to model a large AC/DC thyristor converter and DC motor for a load flow study. Can anyone point me to any web resources which may get me started on this?

I want to be able to find out (using the motor's test data and specification sheets) the following:

1. System speed/torque curves for different converter voltage limits

2. Maximum regeneration capacity for given supply fault levels.

3. Loading on the main supply, power factor and harmonic emission on to the main supply.

Amongst other things.

Take a look at Matlab, especially the SimPowerSystems blockset. There are demos available on the web.

Thanks for replying jbartos & Lewish - I'll check out the websites and investigate Matlab some more.
