Is there a way to make Excel NOT convert a number that looks like a date into a date? For example, if I type "6-32" Excel enters "Jun-32" in the cell.
One technique I know of is to enter it as text, "'6-32" and then Excel will leave it alone. This doesn't work though when using the AutoFilter. If I tell it to display cells where the contents contain "6-32" it enters "Jun-32" in the search criteria and doesn't find anything; I can't use the text trick there.
