Any recomendations on some relatively simple data plotting and analysis software?

I really don't want something big and cumbersome. I just want a small, simple program that will let me plot data files, trace the data plot (with a cursor), and do some simple algebraic maipulation of the data. I would also like some FFT functionality if I can.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Can you afford Excel? You can start with very simple tasks and can make FTT as well. Perhaps it is a bit short in time series analysis.

I already use Excel... It does not have a cursor trace function, however.

Sorry, I really do not know the functioning of cursor trace function. May I ask you to explain it to me? Perhaps some VBa code lines would be good enough to overcome this disadventage.

Actually, there is sort of a crude trace. If you hover your mouse pointer over a data point, you'll get the coordinates of that point displayed.

Also, you can turn on the data tag display, which can display one or all of the data points.

the only program I have that does data trace is Mathcad, but I rarely need it.

You need to explain what your end goal is. There may be alternates to what you've asked for.
