I am looking for information on how automotive dashboards are made. In particular I need informaiton on soft leather like materials used in dashboards (luxury cars.)

Soft to touch synthetic finishes are usually Polyurethane in high quality cars.

In addition to polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride and thermoplastic olefin materials are used for automobile interior trim parts. Parts are produced using slush molding, injection molding, and simple assembly of sheet to substrate using adhesives and/or welding.
