Bizarro world story - there is a dark roof lobby that attempts (sometimes successfully) to prevent light roof mandates. The point of the latter is to reduce energy consumption in daylight. But then somebody comes up with this https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2024GL112433

One gently wonders whether this model has been correlated to the real world, but that of course is too much to ask.
