A customer has submitted numerous drawings where ASME Y14.5M-1994 is referenced. They use the Ø symbol for a cylindrical tolerance where a plane feature being controlled. I would like to know if the Ø symbol appropriate. Example:
Perpendicular | Ø .005 |A
Datum A is a cylindrical feature, but the feature being controlled is a plane surface.
Thanks,
Chuck
