I have been attempting to model a cylindrical shell in sap2000. I have gotten good results compared to Roak's for some of the load cases I am looking at. One that seems to be giving me grief are the results from an applied surface pressure. I have applied a pressure of 160 psf normal to the top face of the shell elements (outside face of the cylinder), compressing the cylinder. I was expecting to see uniform stresses with values similar to those using the basic hoop stress equation but I seem to be getting odd results. I am thinking perhaps I am just interpreting the results incorrectly as they do not look like the results of a cylinder that is loaded uniformly.

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

Posting some screenshots of the loading, outputs, deflected shape etc may help in getting an answer?

I found the issue. It was my mistake, there was a projected uniform load still hiding in there. My apologies.
