Can anyone point me to a good resource for calculating cutting force on a tool insert? Even a plot or measurement would be a good starting point.
 
Machinery's Handbook has a great second on cutting forces and chip flow angle.

Machinery's Handbook has equations for estimating cutting power and force required for metal cutting. Cutting force normal to the cutting can be calculated from the power required ( Power = "RPM" x force x radius.
 
Wow the Kennametal site is cool, bookmarking that one now. Thanks guys, should have thought to check the Machinery's Handbook......pretty much the answer to everything in there :)
