Customize timescale for gantt chart?

I need to use a custom timescale for my MS Project schedule - instead of months and weeks I need Period 1 Week 1, Period 1 Week 2, etc. Is there some way to modify the timescale at the top of the gantt chart view to do this? Or is there an easy way to export a gantt chart to Excel so I can do my own timescale?

Im looking for the same customization. Are you somehow related to Mars? If so, i would like to get in touch.

Go to the Main Menu / Format/ Timescale. For each tier: top, middle, bottom select the units: years, months, weeks etc and select the LABEL. The label can either be a calendar date of a generic year1, months 1, week 1.
