Hi,
if a view or part list is out of date, NX automatically notifies this.
If a drawing has symbols out of date, NX doesn't notify automatically nothing.
Exist an automatic solution that NX notifies that there are symbols out of date ?

Thank you...

Exactly what do you mean by 'out-of-date' symbols? Why do you think that they are are 'out-of-date'? Is it because you've modified them? There is no associative relationship between a Symbol on a Drawing and the original symbol file. If the master symbol has been changed, the symbols on the Drawing have no idea that this has happened, whereas the Parts List know if some has changed in the Assembly content. Also, if the model changes we know that the view must be updated, but there is nothing to tie symbols on the drawing to symbols in the library.

John,
why do you write this ?
The new functionality in NX8 is the relation between the master symbol and the copied symbol added. If the master change, the occurrence can be updated.
There is an option to lock this update.
But there isn't a message 'out-of-date' if the master symbol is changed.
This check can be only performed manually.
I would like an automatic check with a 'out-of-date' message, like the part list.

Thank you...

Sorry, I missed that 'enhancement' [sleeping2]

That being said, have you opened the Part Navigator and looked for what's called an 'Out-of-Date' folder, which will be found under the Drawing Sheet icon but only if there actually are any out-of-date Parts Lists, Tables or CUSTOM SYMBOLS on that particular Drawing sheet?

NX autamtically notify the 'out-of-date' on views or on part list, but on 'out-of-date' symbols no.
To verify if symbols used in the drawings are 'out-of-date', you have to manually RMB on the 'out-of-date' folder use the 'update' command and so on on relative sub-folders.

I would like that NX show the classic 'out-of-date' icon on this folder or better the same message used for out-of-date views, so the user is prompted to decide what to do to synchronize the drafting.

Thank you...
