custom simulink block

hi,
I would like to know if there is a possibility of using a s-function block and generate a custom GUI to accept parameters of some sort to store them in a file ? is there any other way to generate or own custom blocks ? like a dct block to do DCT with some parameters which the user can enter ? any sugestions and help would be very helpful.
