Is there a way to have your arguments displayed when typing in a custom function into excel? For example when you type =if(... excel will show a tool tip showing =if(logical_test, [value if true], [value if false]...

thank you

Try this:

Go to insert menu and insert function... select category "user-defined", then click on your function and it will pull up a menu with arguments.

I don't know of a way to get the tool-tips.

You can get the function dialog from the function wizard, as pete said.

The blog post below gives two ways to add function specific help to the function dialog, an easy but limited way, and a more flexible but more difficult way.
