Looking for design information for curved re-inforced masonry retaining wall footings. It's easy to show that the overturning moment requires less footing than for a linear wall, but I have been unable to find published standards. Local building codes do not address this, and the required footing width is very costly. Also any quidance on "toeless" footing designs to reduce set-back?

Indicate your height, dimensions, elevations, soil conditions surrounding this unique condition. What is the purpose for the radius?? Typically you would design it based on a 12 inch strip.

In a previous company I worked for, we had a curved concrete retaining wall that we created a 3D model for (I believe using Staad), that resulted in a much more economical design (similar to what you are describing). If you have a little time, you might try that.
