I'm using AutoCAD2002 Lt & the cursor is not being displayed in the text region on the multiline text dialog box, on the other computers the cursor is white (shaped like an 'I') but i think its turned black & i cant figure out how to change it back to white.
It makes it very difficult to use multitext.
Can anyone help please?

I do not know if you can change this in the newer AutoCAD version. Depending on the formatting that you want though, you can use another editor for mtext if you want. AutoCAD has a variable MTEXTED, and this normally is set to INTERNAL. You can specify a program like notepad (C:\WINNT\Notepad.exe) and when you edit mtext, it can be edited in notepad. Keep in mind, external programs will not show special formatting, but the can edit the text in black and white to change the text. Just save the file when finished. AutoCAD creates a temporary text file to accomodate this. Just a thought.

What color is the cursor when drawing on the screen? I haven't used ACADLT, but maybe this will help. In ACAD go to tools>options>colors>model tab pointer. Maybe you can change colors somewhere in LT.

I don't know how to edit a reply, but to add to my reply above, if you change the background color, the background of the mtext screen changes also.

Yes, but If you change the background colors, its OFTEN NECESSARY to change the text and cursor (Foreground) colors, too. This last isn't ignored in other programs where background colrs can be changed. If it DOES exist in ACAD, where can we find it? There have been a number of "improvements" to the "Options" dialog in r-200X ACADs. Has where we change background or foreground colors in the Text editor been moved somewhere where we can find it and correct it?
I find it an unacceptable workaround to be forced to use a foreign text editor (like notepad) where we'd lose certain formatting options, and be forced to save and import an external text file, just to achieve the ability to edit text in an ACAD drawing! They've clearly never really gotten text handling right, even since the earliest days of ACAD (oh, 2.17 or so...).
Also, just curious, has this been "fixed" or just "improved" in ACAD r-2004?
Thanks-
