Hi, I am trying to calculate the total reduction ratio for a flange blank.

The billet (0.2m diameter) had a ratio of 3.64:1.
Am I right in saying that the work I am putting in to the material is ~1.38 given:

Cross-section of billet= 0.0468m2
Cross-section of die= 0.0349m2

I am unsure as to whether taking the longitudinal cross-section is correct, knowing the billet reduction is calculated longitudinally.

Can anybody help?
