In low temp liquids, and the welding of inner vessel in Dewars. Does the liquid saturate the weld and pass over to the vacuum space? Is the use of Barium and or Barium compounds getters and Liquid Oxygen considered hazardous and explosive? [sig][/sig]

The liquid does not transfer to the vacuume space in a properly welded tank. However if you have bad welds (porosity) then you can have problems. Proper Quality control and welding systems design for welding in Dewars in very important.

I do not know about your question regarding Barium and Barium getters. I would need more information regarding your application to assess the hazard. More information would be helpful to allow understanding of concentration and form of Barium.
