Cryogenic, Low Pressure RV

Anyone know of a RV that can do this?

Inlet: 2"
Outlet: 3"'
Media: Helium gas
Temperature range: -440 F to 70 F
Set Pressure: 0.25 psig
Flow Required: 12,000 SCFH at -300 F

Just off the top of my head I would say talk to protectoseal. You really might want to go with a buckling pin if you are not setting it off all the time. Look at the PIN-TECH BUBBLE-TIGHT < 500 PPM, PRESSURE RELIEF VENT

Thanks SC. I called them up, and although they don't have any cryogenic RV's, they seem interested in designing something.

Any other leads would be appreciated.

You might have trouble with the -440F. It seems more common for cryogenic valves to stop at around liquid nitrogen temps, around -325F. Other problem is the extremely low 0.25 psi set pressure, that's uncommon as well.

can make you a valve with materials accepted for cryo service, but they haven't tested them that way.

Best bet is probably an austenitic stainless body, like 316 SS.

Other materials to look for: Hastelloy, Inconel, Monel, aluminum (tho I haven't seen any Al valve), bronze/brass.

Only seal material I know of is teflon, but I've seen lots of different numbers on the lower temp limit.
