I have seen shore power facilities for cruise ships and they typically provide 4 or so cables at 6.6 or 11 kV, and a neutral cable. How is that neutral tied into the ships switchboards? Are they running 6.6 kV with a neutral bus?

If you are using any wye/wye transformer banks you need a primary neutral.

Right, but that is what I am asking. Do they have that arrangement? None of the ships I have worked don have a neutral on the HV bus. Maybe an HRG or reference for earth fault protection?
