Dear all,
We are in a process of reviewing/rechecking the safe temperature limits about our 'Revamped Crude oil furnace' transfer line temperature(safe)limit.
Any guidance/thoughts?
Material is A106 grade"B"

N.B:posted also in heat transfer forum for an early response by either forum colleagues.

Is there any reference of pipeline diameter& Carried fluid properties to impact suitability in service(basically a two phase vapour liquid mixture?

No. What's in the pipe is only assumed to be compatible with the piping material, corrosion allowance to be added when appropriate. The designer must make any additional allowances as required for any special characteristics of the contained fluid, the additional loads, the environmental conditions, etc., ... mostly from experience.

You first must do a hydraulic analysis of the piping system to find the appropriate diameters and design pressures, which should include your 2 phase characteristics and any hold-up or other surge loads effects. Then you must find the maximum temperature at which the system will operate. After yu know those, take the allowed stress corresponding to the operating temperature, from the B31.3 tables, from which you be able to determine the appopriate wall thickness to use for all the pipes in the system having that piping material.
