Crosshatch selection in models and drawings

Is there way to change a crosshatch in a drawing file, in my case the scale, without clearing the check in the ‘material crosshatch’ box? We want the model material to drive the drawing for crosshatch selection. The problem we have is the default at the model level is at a scale of 1 and appears it can’t be changed...at least with my 4 eyes anyway. If the part is small, it’s hard to determine the crosshatch. Our users will edit the scale of the crosshatch in the view but that removes the driven parameter set at the model level. Keep in mind this isn’t a stop, drop, and roll problem. However, I am curious to hear from users how they handle the material/crosshatch selection in part and model files. Tips and tricks from seasoned SolidWorks users are always useful.

I don't have Sw07, but in SW05, go to Tools/Options/Drawings and select the sub item Area Hatch/Fill. You should be able to change the scale there.

If you are using part templates, you may want to save several different part templates to represent small, medium and large parts with the scale adjusted so the cross hatching looks correct for the drawings.
