Can anyone give me a good explanation of how to benefit from the cross curves feature. I'm new to SE and trying to understand it. Help would be great. I know I saw a thread here that mentioned it but I cant seem to find it. I want to make on continuious curve. Also is it possible to make one continuios curve from a series of connecting sketches

I have a part to model in where I think cross curves could be useful. But I need to undertand its use better. thanks

why cant i find any decent tutorials? not bagging on SE but when i was using SW there was nothing i couldn't find that would help me if i was lost. tons of macros, tutorials, forums.

THANKS AGAIN!

Adam,

Another good site to check out is segurucool.com

It has some good examples and tutorials.

Here's the one for cross curves
The example shows how to model some handlebars. I've found cross curves to be useful for routing ribbon cables and other shapes. Sometimes it's easier to look as the path from top and side views and then use the cross curve to create the 3D path.

The segurucool site has a lot of other useful tutorials as well.

Thanks guys. I played with it a bit and think I got an ok handle of the feature. I'll see if it comes in handy for me occasionally.

In simple terms, the cross-curve function provides the intesection of two curves - as if you had projected the curves as surfaces and the done an intesection of the two surfaces.
Basically it cuts out the process of having to create the surfaces.
