I am looking for good examples (links) of critically damped systems that have a step response which results in a non-zero overshoot.

I would greatly appreciate any help!!

Thanks!

Critical dampening is a tuning issue for process plants with PID controllers. Critically damped system tuning may be most common for temperature control of batch reactors where something bad happens if exceeding the temperature setpoint. The response is slow to reach setpoint.
