Creating mesh manually

I am trying to create a mesh manually. When I first create it using Autogem it appears. But as soon as I close the create form it is no longer displayed. Is there a way to keep it visable?

as far as I remember it is not allowed to create mesh in Pro/M manually

It does not mean You`ve got no impact on it. You can maintain the meah in some intended areas(datum point, curve), however at the end it all is up to Pro/E to handle the mesh.

It is because Pro/M is not an ordinary FEM software - considering mesh creation. It uses not fenite element method, but gem - geometric element method. Small differance but meaningful.

check analisys folder for Pro/m to find a lot of post with valable links.

I did find a control feature in AutoGEM which allows you to specify the number of elements on an edge.I think you are right about Pro/M notbeing anordinary FEM software, especially to an old SDRC I-deas user. The results seem ro be good with physical tests verifying the Pro/Mresults.

while the control feature helps to seed nodes in the edged you may also want to create your own nodes within the volume a good trick for this is creating surface regions inside the model and seed them with the control tool

If you create the mesh before you run the analysis, as soon
as you hit the close button on the AUTOGEM dialog box, the
mesh will disappear. No way around that as far as I know.
If you want to look again, just click on the create button
and it will reappear.

If you have an independent licence modeof mechanica you can create a mesh manually.

As it has already been stated the use of mesh controls, surface and volume regions, and the use of datum geometry to 'seed' the mesh creation are the preferred methods to exercise control over the automatic mesh creation.
