Using Catia V5R18;

Is there a way to pattern a component in an assembly environment without using the “Reusing a Part Design Pattern” from another component?

Any response will be greatly appreciated!

You can use the Fast Multi instantiation or the Define multi instantiation button in Assembly design. These 2 commands do not keep history or create constraints like the Assembly reuse pattern command.

Is there a command (like the pattern command in the part environment), that will keep the parts history & constraints in the Assembly environment that can also be edited if need be? I don’t want to use the “Reuse Pattern” command, as I want the parts to determine the features position & not the features to determine the parts position.

Any response will be greatly appreciated!

Best thing I could think of, is to use a dummy part file and create a point in it and pattern the point. Then constrain your assembly parts to the dummy points with Reuse Pattern.
