hi guys,

i just started using solidworks, and am very new at this. I have creating a few parts, but im stuck on something new now. I want to be able to create a blower style housing. ones you see on turbocharges and superchargers. I know i will have to use the loft feature, and different planes, but my big question is how would i be able to create the rotation from big to small and create a small circle.

Check out the online tutorial. It is very explicit & should help you better understand lofting.

Well Bandu,

The thing is, that it depends a little upon what type of information you havfe to start with... if you have all of the sections of the thing, you might want to try using a loft, if you have profile, and path information, then you might want to look up a sweep on the help menu...

regardless of which one you choose, you should also investigate how to create and use "guide curves"

Hope that helps a little..

Sounds more like a case for a Revolve Boss to me, if I am understanding your situation completely.

Well normally that would work yes, but in this case you need to follow a path that is more of an involute.. so either a loft between sections with a centerling parameter and/or some guide curves... or else a sweep it guide(s)...
