Creating a surface from an imported STL mesh

Hi everyone,

I have imported an STL into CATIA by using 'Import' from within the Digital Shape Editor workbench. I can generate a surface from this mesh by utilizing the 'Automatic Surface' tool within the Quick Surface Reconstruction toolbar.

The problem that I am having is that I am trying to record a macro in order to automate the surface creation command of which I cannot rerun without an error. I get the feeling that the script does not recognise the mesh as an input or that the tool cannot be recorded.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
