Creating a layout of values?

Hello.

Overall Situation:
From my initial 2 columns of information 1 being Panel (number) and the 2 with Reinforcing (number) create data that shows all the panels for a specific reinforcing number.

The way I do it right now is have the two columns then beside them use a formula to get the cell value next to it and fill down. Then I manualy delete the extra reinf numbers and then cut/paste panels into proper cells going from left to right.

We have to re-create panels and reinforcing numbers for everyjob so I would like to automate this.


Here is an example of what it comes out as.

I know there is an easy way to do this but I can't figure it at the moment.

A pivot table is probably the best solution for you. Select your data columns, then choose Data / Pivot table from the menu. Then define the table the way you like it best.
For example, place the reinforcments in the column headers, and the panels in the rows, and Count of reinforcements in the body of the table. You should get a matrix, with non-zero values where you have a combination defined.
Alternatively, place the reinforcements as the first row source, and the panels as the second row source (you can drag & drop once the pivot table is defined). The list should line up pretty much the way you did it by hand.

I just tried Pivot tables. I need the data displayed EXACTLY as I show in

This is what I got using the Pivot table, I just can't get the panel num so go six across then down to next row and six across ect.
