I have a casting of the tops of two dies. They have been scanned and saved as a .sldprt file. The file is attached. I need to create models for the cast contours. I thought about offsetting surfaces, then deleting the attached file description but all gets deleted. What would be the way to do this?
TIA

After creating the zero offset surface, delete the solid body from the Solid Bodies folder in the FM tree.

Thanks for getting back.
I did as suggested. I zero offset the outside contour and the chamfer surfaces but when I deleted the "Imported 1" solid body, the offset surfaces were also deleted. I was not able to remove the surfaces in the "And all dependent items" area.

Make sure you're deleting the solid body and not the feature that creates it. If you delete the feature, the offset will go with it. Deleting the solid body will be a step in the feature tree that happens after the offset.

If you offset a surface you will have a 1 solid body and one surface body - there are folders for this.. when you delete the Solid got to the folder and RMB 9Right mouse button) and select "Delete"

If they are "2 separate bodies" one won't delete the other.

I think there is a problem in how this was made. It is called a "Imported1". Please look at uploaded file from my original post.
Thank You
