while moving recently. the washing machine took a nasty turn.
not realizing the entire tub was moved off kilter, the little lady ran a load. only to find that only during the spin cycle would it leak water from underneath! after dismantling the entire thing i found the bottom of the plastic drain tub shell to be cracked. a crack running about 8 inches from side to middle. i just wonder? since there is really no stress put on this particular piece. if there may be some sort of adhesive, repair bonding etc. available or even a technique that would repair this adequately?

The type of repair would really depend on the material. What might work for a PVC might not on HDPE. I don't know if the tub would have any indicator on it as to what it might be. You might want to check.

The tub is probably, but not definitely polypropylene.

If it is poltpropylene, it is very difficult to glue, but can be hot air welded with correct equipment and technique.

First yo need to identify the plastic.
